Russia reserves the right to respond "symmetrically" to Ukrainian attacks on its energy facilities, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On Friday, Russia and Ukraine each accused the other of blowing up a gas pumping station near their border, which has seen Ukrainian troops retreating. Throughout three years of conflict, Russia has persistently targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure, while Ukraine has also conducted strikes on energy facilities in Russia.

The ministry stated that "as in 2022, provocations are being used again with the aim of disrupting the negotiation process." It issued a clear warning that if the Kyiv regime continues its destructive actions, the Russian Federation will respond accordingly, including with potentially symmetrical measures.
