On Thursday, February 6th, Russia's defense ministry announced that it is conducting stealth maneuvers with Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles in the Volga region. Video footage was released showing Yars missile launchers moving through a snowy forest.
The Yars missile is a nuclear weapon capable of being transported on truck carriers or situated in silos. Similar maneuvers were carried out by Russia last year as a nuclear deterrent to the West amid heightened tensions surrounding the conflict in Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the missiles are being strategically positioned along "combat patrol routes," utilizing camouflage techniques to travel distances of up to 100 km (62 miles). Additionally, troops are honing their skills in defending against potential sabotage and reconnaissance activities by simulated enemy groups.
