Based on a Reuters poll on Wednesday, Mexico's economy likely shrank in the fourth quarter of last year. The median forecast of 11 analysts predicts a 0.2% decline in gross domestic product from the previous quarter, using seasonally adjusted figures. If these predictions hold true, it would be Mexico's first quarterly contraction since a 0.9% decrease in Q3 2021. Annually, Mexico's GDP is expected to have grown by 1.2%, down from the 1.6% increase in the third quarter. The official fourth-quarter GDP data from the INEGI national statistics institute is due to be released on Thursday.
