Randy Fine Claims Victory in Special Election for Florida's Deep-Red House Seat

Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine, both Republicans, secured victories in special elections for Florida's 1st and 6th districts. These vacancies resulted from Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz being selected for positions in Trump's administration. President Trump's endorsement played a significant role in both wins, although Democrats managed to narrow the Republican margins compared to the previous November election. Fine's campaign raised $1 million, in contrast to his Democratic opponent, Josh Weil, who secured $9 million for the 6th district race. Despite narrower-than-expected margins and heightened Democratic enthusiasm, the Republican victories increased the party's House majority to 220-213.
