Proposal to Legislate Banning DeepSeek on Federal Devices

The proposed legislation, called the 'No DeepSeek on Government Devices Act,' is spearheaded by GOP Rep. Darin LaHood and Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer. Concerns have been raised regarding DeepSeek's privacy policy, which suggests the possibility of user data being accessible to the Chinese Communist Party. Several other countries, including Australia and Italy, have already implemented measures to restrict DeepSeek's operation due to national security concerns.
