President Trump Repeals Biden's AI Safety Order

President Donald Trump has revoked an executive order by the Biden administration that set out oversight measures for companies creating powerful AI models. Additionally, he rescinded the Biden administration's 2023 executive order concerning AI safety and security, as part of a broad annulment of the prior administration's executive orders and actions. The rescinded order, known as the Safe, Secure and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence, mainly relied on voluntary compliance and mandated significant AI developers to disclose safety assessments to the federal government. This reversal will expose the American public to AI risks and prevent them from accessing potential benefits.
