In a meeting on Monday, the CEO of Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras informed Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva that the company will be adjusting diesel prices, as reported by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.
The CEO, Magda Chambriard, mentioned to Lula that the exact percentage of the adjustment is still under calculation. The newspaper did not disclose its sources but noted that the price modification is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.
Petrobras did not respond immediately to a request for comment regarding this matter.
The report did not specify whether the adjustment would lead to an increase or decrease in diesel prices. Analysts have pointed out that Petrobras fuel prices are currently lower than prevailing international prices.
