Jack Teixeira, a 23-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, pleaded guilty yesterday to military obstruction charges at Hanscom Air Force Base. He received a dishonorable discharge for destroying evidence with a hammer after leaking classified Ukraine war documents.
As a result of the leak, secret assessments of Russia's Ukraine war were exposed, revealing military capabilities of several nations. The incident also led to the Pentagon enhancing its controls over classified information. Teixeira is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence from a prior federal court conviction.
