In Bolivia, a bus crash on Monday resulted in the tragic death of at least 31 people, with over a dozen others injured, as reported by local police. The driver is believed to have lost control of the bus, causing it to plummet nearly 800 meters (2625 ft) off a cliff in the municipality of Yocalla in the southwest, a police officer stated from the local hospital.
Among the injured, 10 adults and four children have been admitted to the hospital, with several in critical condition, according to a hospital official in a video statement. The treacherous mountainous road's sharp curves and the bus's speed are suspected to have contributed to the accident, the police officer added.
