"Wicked" and the British actress Cynthia Erivo, along with Ariana Grande, garnered 10 nominations each. Meanwhile, the three-and-a-half-hour epic "The Brutalist," featuring Adrien Brody, also picked up 10 nominations, with Demi Moore earning her first Oscar nomination.
Moore, nominated for Best Actress for her role in "The Substance" said, "an incredible honor and these last few months have been beyond my wildest dreams" and expressed concern for the Los Angeles wildfires, stating, "my heart is with my friends, family, neighbors, and community here in LA."
For the Best Actor category, contenders portray early years of real-life figures, including Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump in "The Apprentice" and Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown." Adrien Brody is favored to win with his role in "The Brutalist."

"Wicked" could make its lead, Selina Gomez, an EGOT if she wins. Ralph Fiennes and Felicity Jones are among the nominees, with Sir Elton John in the race for Best Original Song.
Wallace and Gromit are aiming for their fourth Oscar, competing for Best Animated Feature. "The Last Showgirl" missed out on Oscar nominations, with other notable actors overlooked. Daniel Craig and Irish-language rappers Kneecap were also left out from this year's nominations.
