On Tuesday, Oracle released a new set of artificial intelligence agents designed to assist salespeople in various customer-related tasks. This move reflects a trend among major tech companies, like Microsoft and Alphabet's Google, in focusing on developing virtual assistants to address repetitive or challenging tasks autonomously.

Unlike consumer-oriented virtual assistants, Oracle's agents are specialized to handle specific tasks such as updating company records during customer interactions. One of these agents, known as "customer intelligence," can compile data from different categories within Oracle's business software and generate reports for sales teams preparing for negotiations, even across multiple languages.

For instance, the system could alert a U.S.-based sales team about a recurring client facing delayed shipments in another country, aiding in offering appropriate contract concessions.

Rob Pinkerton, a senior vice president at Oracle, emphasized the practicality of this technology for diverse global clients in various industries. He highlighted the agents' capability to consolidate data in multiple languages, stating, "To have that assistance to pull (data) all together in all the languages a seller has to care about is pretty useful."

Oracle confirmed that these new features are now available without extra charges, catering to a wide range of industries worldwide.
