Swiss drugmaker Novartis is discontinuing its use of diverse panels for all hiring in the United States, citing the evolving legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity in the country.
Several U.S. and European companies have reduced or eliminated their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives since former President Donald Trump designated certain aspects of DEI as illegal and threatened investigations into companies regarding these practices.
In a statement, Novartis acknowledged that changing laws and policies in the U.S. necessitate this shift, while reaffirming their commitment to embracing diverse perspectives and fostering equal opportunities for all employees.
