British author Neil Gaiman, known for his best-selling books, faces accusations of sexual misconduct by eight women, four of whom had previously come forward.

The recent report details new allegations from interviews with these eight women. This follows the podcast Master by Tortoise Media, which first reported accusations against Gaiman.

Gaiman's representatives deny the claims, stating that his encounters with the women were consensual.

In July 2024, Tortoise Media reported sexual assault accusations against Gaiman, with a podcast series featuring allegations from five women.

Recently, New York Magazine and Vulture reported similar allegations from eight women, four of whom were also part of Tortoise's podcast.

One accuser, who had been babysitting Gaiman's child, alleges that he made inappropriate advances during a bath, including sexual assault.

The article notes that the accusers had participated in Gaiman's desires by calling him "master" but claim that specific BDSM activities were not discussed beforehand.

Gaiman's representatives previously stated that BDSM between consenting adults is lawful.

A previous police report accusing Gaiman of sexual assault was made in January 2023 but was later dropped.

The impact of the allegations has affected some of Gaiman's film and TV projects, with alterations to the production of Good Omens, The Graveyard Book adaptation, and Dead Boy Detectives.

Despite this, The Sandman season two and Anansi Boys adaptation are still on track for release this year.

Efforts to reach Gaiman's representatives for further comment have been made by the BBC.

Leeds Playhouse plans to showcase a musical adaptation of Gaiman's novella Coraline, moving forward with the project as scheduled.

Headline, a publisher of Gaiman's works, has chosen not to comment on the allegations.
