"Young adults in Britain are increasingly hiring others for household tasks, moving away from a DIY mindset, according to research by Halfords. The survey found that only 70 percent of younger people could identify a flathead screwdriver, compared to 88 percent of older adults. Young people spend an average of £1,300 each year on handymen for basic tasks they could do themselves, as stated in the report. Andy Turbefield from Halfords noted that the ability to perform basic practical tasks is being lost among younger generations."
