National Australia Bank Announces Resignation of Group CFO, Nathan Goonan

On March 17, National Australia Bank announced that Nathan Goonan has resigned from his position as group chief financial officer, along with other senior executive changes.

Goonan assumed the role of chief financial officer at the bank in July 2023 after serving as the executive general manager of group strategy and development, having been part of the organization for approximately 15 years.

In the interim, Shaun Dooley, the current group chief risk officer, will fulfill the duties of group CFO while NAB seeks a permanent replacement.

In addition to the financial leadership shift, Rachel Slade, currently the group executive for business and private banking, will depart from NAB on July 1 and will be succeeded by Andrew Auerbach, a business and wealth banker from Canada.

Coincidentally, Australia's Westpac announced on the same day that Goonan has been appointed as its new chief financial officer.
