NASA Astronauts Perform Spacewalk on Extended ISS Mission

Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are currently on a spacewalk outside the International Space Station, collecting samples. The spacewalk started at 7:43 a.m. ET and is expected to span approximately 6.5 hours. This marks Williams' ninth spacewalk and Wilmore's fifth.

During the mission, the astronauts are swabbing areas outside the station to investigate microorganisms. This research could provide valuable insights for future lunar and Mars expeditions.

Due to technical issues with Boeing's Starliner, they have remained in space for nearly 10 months. Upon the arrival of Crew-10, they will return to Earth using SpaceX's Crew-9 capsule.
