On February 19, Microsoft announced the development of an artificial intelligence model for a video game that can assist in generating visuals and actions.
The model, known as Muse, was created through a collaboration with Ninja Theory, a developer affiliated with Xbox Game Studios, Microsoft's gaming division.
This move towards AI innovation is a response to the escalating costs of video game development, alongside a decline in spending on new games driven by consumer preference for established titles during times of economic uncertainty.
Fatima Kardar, corporate vice president for gaming AI, noted, "We are already using Muse to develop a real-time playable AI model trained on other first-party games, and we see potential for this work to one day benefit both players and game creators."
