Mexico's foreign ministry announced that its top security officials held a productive meeting with U.S. counterparts in Washington on Thursday. Both parties agreed to collaborate in combating organized crime in their respective countries.
Representatives from Mexico's security cabinet journeyed to the U.S. capital to address security concerns, as the neighboring country has warned of imposing widespread tariffs unless Mexico intensifies its efforts to prevent the influx of migrants and opioid fentanyl across the border.
The ministry stated that joint actions will be implemented in the upcoming weeks and months with the goal of reducing fatalities caused by fentanyl and the illegal trafficking of weapons.
