Recent news reported that Mexican cartels have sanctioned kamikaze drone attacks targeting US Border Patrol agents and military personnel along the Mexico border. This threat was disclosed in a memo dated February 1st and coincides with intensified border security measures under Trump's administration, such as the deployment of 10,000 troops and large-scale deportation raids.
For safety, Border agents are now recommended to have first-aid kits, tourniquets, and body armor on hand, in addition to ensuring access to rifles. Just last week, agents encountered gunfire in Fronton, Texas, underscoring the escalating risks faced at the border.
