A doorbell camera recorded the extraordinary event of a meteorite impacting the ground outside a residence, creating visible dust and audible sounds upon impact—an unprecedented occurrence as noted by University of Alberta scientist Chris Herd.
In July 2024, Laura Kelly and her partner Joe found the meteorite outside their home in Prince Edward Island, Canada, marking the province's inaugural documented meteorite descent.
The meteorite caused a minor indentation in the walkway and was identified as an ordinary chondrite, the prevalent type of meteorite that reaches Earth.
