Reports of an Instagram outage in the U.S. significantly decreased on Thursday evening, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, suggesting that the issue has mostly been resolved for many users.
As of 8:34 p.m. ET, only 429 incidents were reported, a drop from 19,431 earlier in the day. Downdetector aggregates status reports from various sources to track outages.
Instagram's parent company, Meta, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Downdetector's data is based on user-submitted reports, meaning the actual number of affected users may vary.
