Macron's Chief of Staff to Join French Bank Societe Generale, According to L'Opinion

According to L'Opinion, French President Emmanuel Macron's chief of staff, Alexis Kohler, is reportedly poised to assume the role of head of retail banking at Societe Generale.

When contacted, Societe Generale opted not to provide a comment. Requests for comments from Kohler and the Elysee presidential palace remained unanswered at the time. An Elysee spokesperson, as cited by L'Opinion, stated that Kohler "has not signed anywhere and, for the moment, is not going anywhere."

Kohler has served as Macron's chief of staff since the beginning of his first term in 2017. Similar to Macron, he is a graduate of the prestigious Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA). Under President Francois Hollande, he also held the position of head of Macron's cabinet during Macron's tenure as finance minister.
