Kevin Spacey Faces New Civil Sexual Assault Lawsuit in the UK

Oscar-winning American actor Kevin Spacey is facing a new lawsuit in the UK alleging sexual abuse, more than 18 months after being acquitted of all charges in a high-profile trial. The civil suit was filed at London's High Court against Spacey, 65, with no details available at present. The case also targets London's Old Vic theatre, where Spacey served as artistic director around 2003. Spacey, currently in London, has not yet responded to the allegations. In a previous criminal trial, Spacey, who has consistently denied accusations of sexual misconduct, stated that some of the same individuals had initiated civil proceedings against him. Regarding the accusations, he mentioned in a TV interview, "I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions, but I cannot and will not apologize to anyone who has fabricated or exaggerated stories about me." The Old Vic has not issued a statement at this time. However, a spokesperson from the claimant's legal team confirmed the lawsuit. Once a prominent figure in Hollywood, with Oscars for "American Beauty" and "The Usual Suspects," Spacey faced initial allegations of sexual assault in 2017, resulting in his removal from the series "House of Cards." In 2023, he was tried at London's Southwark Crown Court on charges of sexually assaulting four men in the UK between 2004 and 2013.
