Amidst a legal dispute concerning events on the set of the film "It Ends With Us," Justin Baldoni has launched a website featuring his revised complaint and a detailed timeline of the case. Baldoni, along with co-star Blake Lively, who portrayed a couple in the successful movie released last year, are currently entangled in a contentious legal battle.
Lively, aged 37, filed a lawsuit against 41-year-old Baldoni in December, alleging sexual harassment and defamation. In response, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, citing civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy. Additionally, Baldoni is pursuing a libel suit against the New York Times. Both parties vehemently deny the accusations, with a trial date set for the case.
The website includes legal documents: Baldoni's recent court filings against Lively and Reynolds, and a 168-page dossier labeled "timeline of relevant events," detailing the conflicts and the film's production. This narrative reportedly encompasses text exchanges between Baldoni and Lively.
Following adjustments to his lawsuit, Baldoni claims Lively provided the New York Times with early access to her civil rights complaint. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, explained that this amended action was prompted by substantial new evidence supporting their original stance against Lively's alleged smear campaign.
In response to Baldoni's legal actions, a New York Times spokesperson refuted the inaccuracies in his claims, dismissing them as based on unreliable sources. Lively's team has not yet publicly commented, although Lively reportedly cited footage of a filmed dance scene as supportive evidence for her assertions.
"It Ends With Us," based on the novel by Colleen Hoover, was released to popularity last summer, evolving into a TikTok sensation. The movie features Lively as a character trapped in an abusive relationship with Baldoni's character, inspired by the author's personal experience with domestic abuse endured by her mother.
