Iran has called in the ambassadors of Britain, France, and Germany, alleging a misapplication of the Security Council's authority concerning its nuclear program. The United Nations Security Council is set to convene a closed-door session to address Iran's escalating supply of highly enriched uranium, following a request from six council members, which includes France and the US. Britain, France, and Germany are considering activating a snapback mechanism to reimpose UN sanctions on Iran as a precaution against nuclear weapon proliferation. The International Atomic Energy Agency cautioned that Iran is enriching uranium to 60% purity, nearing the critical threshold of 90% required for weapons-grade material.
