Recovery operations are still ongoing in Washington DC following a collision between an American Airlines plane from Kansas carrying 64 people and a military helicopter with three personnel on board on Wednesday night.
The victims included top figure skaters from the US and Russia, a young pilot, flight attendants, and a lawyer who was traveling home on her birthday.
Among those believed to have been on board were Asra Hussain Raza, a 26-year-old woman from Indiana who had recently moved to Washington DC after completing a master's degree in hospital management. Her husband, Hamaad Raza, shared that she was helping a hospital in need during her work trip and was also working while on the flight. He expressed her dedication and passion for helping others.
Professor Kiah Duggins - a civil rights lawyer scheduled to start teaching at the university's School of Law, and Sarah Lee Best - one of the two DC lawyers on the flight planning an anniversary trip to Hawaii with her husband.
Elizabeth Keys, a 33-year-old lawyer, was remembered by her partner David Seidman as someone who always found joy in everything she did, even on her birthday, when she tragically passed away. Her law firm, Wilkinson Stekloff, honored her, along with her colleague Casey Crafton from Salem, Connecticut, who was described as a devoted father and community member.
Michael Stovall, remembered as a joyful person who saw the good in everyone, was travelling with Jesse Pitcher, as confirmed by Jesse's father, who recalled his son as someone just starting his life journey.
Colonel Pergentino N. Malabed of the Philippine National Police was identified among the passengers, alongside Jonathan J. Campos, who was described as having a passion for flying and exploring new horizons. Sam Lilley, a 28-year-old pilot engaged to be married, was fondly remembered by his family as someone who embraced life fully.
The list of passengers also included Ian Epstein, a flight attendant who cherished his family; Danasia Elder, another flight attendant who pursued her dreams and inspired others to do the same; and Ryan O'Hara, the crew chief of the Black Hawk helicopter, who was a valued member of his community.
Andrew Eaves, a pilot on the Blackhawk helicopter was remembered by his wife, Carrie Eaves, for his dedication and service. Spencer Lane and Christine Lane, a determined skater and a dedicated mother, were among the victims.
Jinna Han and her mother Jin Han were at the skate camp together, enjoying their shared passion for skating. Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, respected Russian ice skating coaches, were also tragically lost in the incident.
Olivia Ter, a 12-year-old figure skater from Maryland, was highlighted by local officials as a vibrant member of the sports community. Cory Haynos, Roger Haynos, and Stephanie Branton Haynos, shared bonds of love and dedication within their family.
Sasha Kirsanov, a former skating coach associated with the University of Delaware, was also among those on board the ill-fated flight.
