Hollywood writer-director Carl Erik Rinsch has been arrested for allegedly swindling $11 million from Netflix in connection with a show that was never aired. Prosecutors claim that Rinsch engaged in a fraudulent scheme targeting Netflix, resulting in charges of wire fraud and money laundering. It is alleged that Rinsch misappropriated funds intended for production by transferring them to a personal brokerage account, using around $10 million for luxury purchases. Following his arrest in West Hollywood, Rinsch is scheduled to appear in federal court in California.
