In Davos, Switzerland, Greenpeace activists managed to bypass the World Economic Forum's stringent security measures on Tuesday, holding a brief climate change demonstration outside the main hall of the annual meeting.

Disguised in dark suits and white shirts, three protesters infiltrated the Congress Centre and climbed onto a balcony. Subsequently, two of them unveiled a large banner that read: "Tax the super-rich. Fund a just & green future."

Security personnel swiftly intervened and removed the protesters just before the official opening ceremony, which included a speech by the European Commission.

"Clara Thompson, a Greenpeace activist, later confirmed over the phone that the three activists had been removed from the premises," Thompson mentioned: "They managed to find a way in; I cannot disclose more details."

This action echoes a similar protest conducted by Greenpeace on Monday at the Davos heliport, aligning with the message conveyed to business and political leaders gathering in Switzerland where the primary focus this week is "safeguarding the planet."

In response, the WEF emphasized in its 2025 agenda the necessity for collaboration among businesses, governments, and civil society to identify common solutions and take decisive measures.

Furthermore, demonstrators advocating against fossil fuel subsidies had also vandalized the storefront of Amazon’s temporary location on the main street by splashing it with green paint.
