The French antitrust agency is currently investigating Microsoft due to concerns that the quality of results may be compromised when smaller competitors pay to utilize Bing technology in their own search-engine products. A Microsoft spokesperson stated, "We are fully cooperating with the Autorite's investigation," in reference to the regulator's French designation.

According to Bloomberg, the investigation was first reported on Monday. While not a significant player in the general market, Microsoft holds a prominent position in the search-engine syndication sector. The competition authority has chosen not to comment on the matter.

If the investigation uncovers any wrongdoing, it could result in formal charges and a financial penalty for the U.S. tech giant.
