PARIS, Feb 7 (Reuters) - France rebutted Russia's assertion on Friday that denying visas to Russian journalists was a reciprocation, following the Kremlin's accusation that France's visa refusal to two Russian journalists was biased.

The French foreign ministry spokesman stated that France would review the situation concerning accreditation for legitimate Russian journalists in France, especially after Russia failed to renew the accreditation for Le Monde's Moscow correspondent.

Moscow claimed that journalist Benjamin Quenelle's accreditation wasn't extended due to France's refusal to grant a visa to a Russian reporter.

The foreign ministry spokesman informed reporters, "This is another hindrance to freedom of information, especially when working conditions for journalists in Russia, both domestic and foreign, are already particularly challenging and press freedom is not honored."
