Former Brazilian President Rousseff Released from Hospital in Shanghai

Former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, currently heading the BRICS bloc's development bank, has been released from a Shanghai hospital after a nearly week-long stay due to vestibular neuritis. Rousseff, 77, responded well to treatment at the Shanghai East International Medical Center.

Rousseff, Brazil's first female president, governed from 2011 until her impeachment in 2016 amidst a severe recession. In 2023, she assumed leadership of the New Development Bank (NDB) located in Shanghai.

According to her press office, Rousseff was discharged and has resumed her duties at the NDB headquarters.
