EU Postpones First Retaliatory Tariffs on U.S. Goods to Mid-April

The European Union has postponed tariffs on U.S. goods until mid-April, following a 25% tariff imposed by President Donald Trump on steel and aluminum. EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic noted that this delay enables more effective consultation with member states and extended negotiations with the U.S. administration. In retaliation, Trump threatened a 200% tariff on European wine and criticized the EU as one of the most hostile and abusive taxing and tariffing authorities globally.
