On March 15th, SpaceX founder Elon Musk announced that Starship is scheduled to journey to Mars by the end of next year, carrying the Tesla humanoid bot Optimus. Musk indicated that human landings could potentially commence as early as 2029, with 2031 being a more realistic timeframe if initial landings are successful.
During an investor conference call in April of last year, Musk stated his expectation that Optimus would be operational in the factory by the end of 2024. Further reports in November highlighted Musk's ambition to transport humans to Mars gaining momentum under U.S. President Donald Trump, which could lead to significant changes in NASA's moon program and provide a boost for SpaceX.
Starship plays a pivotal role in SpaceX's future satellite launch endeavors, a sector currently dominated by its partially reusable Falcon 9. Additionally, it aligns with Musk's vision to establish a human presence on Mars.
