Russian-born Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov announced on Monday that he has returned to Dubai after being arrested near Paris last August. Following a formal investigation and a ban on leaving France, Durov spent several months in France due to a probe regarding criminal activities on Telegram.
Durov expressed his gratitude to the investigative judges for allowing his return home and praised his legal team and staff for their dedication in showing that Telegram has consistently surpassed its legal obligations in terms of moderation, cooperation, and combating crime. "The process is ongoing, but it feels great to be home," he added.
