Deutsche Bank Enhances Employee Benefits in the Middle East and Africa

Deutsche Bank has increased parental leave benefits in its Middle East and Africa regional offices to remain competitive in the market. The new policy, effective since the beginning of the year, allows primary caregivers of newborns or newly-adopted children up to 26 weeks of fully-paid leave. Additionally, the bank provides up to two weeks of fully-paid paternal leave and grants paid leave to employees who have experienced a miscarriage.

With over 500 employees in 14 regional offices, Dubai serves as Deutsche Bank's regional hub in the United Arab Emirates, boasting the highest number of employees. Amid a rapid economic recovery post-pandemic in the UAE, the bank, like other global financial institutions, has capitalised on the country's enticing tax policies and business-friendly environment to attract talent.

Despite these advantages, companies are facing stiff competition in securing a skilled workforce. According to UAE law, female employees in the private sector are entitled to 60 days of leave, while paternal leave for male employees stands at five working days.
