Cyclone Garance struck the French island of La Reunion on February 28, 2025, leading to a minimum of four fatalities, as reported by French authorities. With winds reaching 230 kilometers per hour, the cyclone resulted in the uprooting of thousands of trees and triggered flash floods, according to the prefecture. Official sources reported that over 180,000 residents were deprived of electricity, while more than 170,000 were left without water in the cyclone's aftermath.
