On Feb 19, facial recognition company Clearview AI announced the appointment of Hal Lambert and Richard Schwartz as co-CEOs, replacing Hoan Ton-That, who will continue as a board member. In a separate statement, Ton-That expressed his departure on a positive note, highlighting Clearview AI's significant growth and record revenues in 2024.

Clearview AI provides a facial recognition search engine to U.S. law enforcement agencies, sourcing data from various public internet platforms like news media, mugshot websites, public social media, and other open websites.

Last year, Clearview AI faced a €30.5 million ($31.82 million) fine for allegedly constructing an illegal database as stated by the Dutch data protection watchdog DPA. Clearview has challenged the ruling, asserting its disagreement with the decision as unlawful.
