Last year, China initiated the construction of a 607-hectare military command center named 'Beijing Military City,' situated 30km southwest of Beijing. This facility, under the supervision of President Xi Jinping, is set to be ten times larger than the Pentagon and will feature bombproof bunkers designed for nuclear war protection.
This development holds significance as it reflects China's growing military aspirations, aiming to reach parity with the US in nuclear capabilities by 2035 with a stockpile of 1,500 weapons. Notably, these advancements occur amidst heightened tensions regarding Taiwan and preparations for the People's Liberation Army's centenary in 2027.
