"Drag Race" stars, family, friends, and celebrities gathered to bid farewell to James Lee Williams, renowned as drag queen The Vivienne, in a funeral held in north Wales. Williams was found dead at 32 in Cheshire three weeks prior.
Notable figures in attendance included singers Jade Thirlwall and Ian "H" Watkins, drag queens Cheryl Hole, Baga Chipz, and Danny Beard, along with TV personalities Kim Woodburn and Kerry Katona. The coffin, carried by black horses with green plumes in a horse-drawn carriage, was adorned with floral tributes and the iconic crown and sceptre of "RuPaul's Drag Race" winners.
Among others present were former Drag Race contestants Veronica Green and Tia Kofi, and actresses Claire Sweeney and Jennifer Ellison. The Vivienne, winner of the first series of "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" in 2019, was remembered for their talent in musical theater and TV.
The funeral concluded with attendees releasing white doves on the church lawn, reflecting the outpouring of grief since Williams' passing. The service took place at St Margaret's Church in Bodelwyddan, near Williams' childhood home, where they began their journey as The Vivienne before gaining fame on international stages.
