Brazil Supreme Court Chamber Upholds Suspension of Rumble

On March 7, a majority of a five-member panel of Brazil's Supreme Court supported a justice's decision to suspend U.S. video-sharing platform Rumble for non-compliance with court orders. Justices Flavio Dino and Cristiano Zanin sided with Alexandre de Moraes, forming a majority, while Justices Luiz Fux and Carmen Lucia were yet to vote. Rumble, popular among right-wing influencers, was suspended in February until appointing a legal representative for Brazil and fulfilling other court orders, including settling fines. Rumble did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The disagreement arose when Rumble refused to block the account of a Brazilian streamer in the U.S. under investigation in Brazil for hate speech and spreading false information. Rumble and Trump Media & Technology Group are seeking to block Moraes' orders in a U.S. district court, alleging they breach the U.S. Constitution. The justices have until March 14 to cast their votes in the virtual court session.
