Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has undergone surgery following a stabbing incident at his home but his team has confirmed he is now out of danger. The attack occurred in the early hours of Thursday in a posh neighborhood in Mumbai, where Khan resides with his family.
According to city police, the actor was wounded during a scuffle with an unidentified man who trespassed into his house after midnight. Investigative teams have been assembled by the police.
Khan's team reported, "Khan has successfully undergone surgery and is currently in stable condition. Doctors are closely monitoring his recovery." Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital, where Khan is being treated, stated that the actor had suffered a significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife, necessitating surgical intervention to remove the knife and repair spinal fluid leakage. Additionally, Khan received treatment for other wounds on his hand and neck.
Saif Ali Khan is married to Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, with whom he has two children. The family has not issued a public statement yet, but Khan's team assured that they are safe.
While the exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam stated that an unknown individual had entered Khan's residence resulting in an altercation.
