BMW to Cover Tariff Costs for Select Mexican-Built Models

German automaker BMW has informed its U.S. dealers that it will cover the additional costs of new tariffs on its imports from Mexico for the next few weeks. The announcement was made by a company spokesperson on Wednesday, as initially reported by The Wall Street Journal.

BMW stated it would offer "price protection" for specific Mexican-made models that would be impacted by tariffs, such as the 3 Series sedan and 2 Series coupe, until May 1. This information was relayed to the company's U.S. dealers in a message cited by the WSJ.

Confirming the report's details, a BMW spokesperson mentioned that approximately 10% of the company's U.S. sales originate from Mexico.
