The European Space Agency is currently tracking Asteroid 2024 YR4, approximately the size of a football field, to assess its potential collision with Earth in 2032. With a probability of one in 83 of impacting Earth, the European Space Agency warns of severe local damage in such an event. In case the risk of impact is substantiated, the ESA will propose measures to the United Nations and evaluate potential spacecraft-based responses. According to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Asteroid 2024 YR4 presents six potential scenarios for impact between 2032 and 2074.
