Argentina's mining exports hit a historic high in January and February this year, surpassing the previous record from the same period a decade ago by 13%, according to the mining ministry.
In the first two months of the year, exports generated $782 million, compared to the former record of $692 million during the same months in 2015.
The country's mining exports primarily consist of gold, silver, and lithium.
In year-on-year comparisons, gold exports increased by 54% and silver by 46%. While lithium exports rose by 23%, they remained below the amounts exported in the first two months of 2023.
Switzerland, China, the United States, and Canada were the primary destinations for all mining exports, with China leading in lithium exports.
