Apple has informed Britain's competition regulator that certain proposed solutions by the watchdog to address concerns in the mobile browser market could hinder the company's motivation to innovate. Apple, along with Google, responded to issues regarding mobile browsers, browser engines, and the distribution of cloud gaming services through app stores on mobile devices, with their feedback being made public on the government website. Regarding the suggested remedies for providing feature access, Apple stated that mandating free access to future WebKit or iOS features used by Safari would not be suitable, citing the resource-intensive nature of feature development. Apple emphasized the importance of recouping expenses to incentivize innovation and discourage free-riding and underinvestment from third parties.
