Alpha Bank of Greece to Acquire Astrobank of Cyprus

On Thursday, Greek Alpha Bank Services and Holdings announced that it has finalized a binding agreement to acquire the small Cypriot bank AstroBank for approximately 200 million euros. The acquisition will be carried out by Alpha Bank Cyprus, a subsidiary of Alpha Bank in Cyprus, and is projected to be completed in the last quarter of 2025. According to Alpha Bank, AstroBank currently operates 15 branches, holds 2.2 billion euros in deposits, and has 800 million euros in loans.
