Acer CEO Jason Chen has announced a 10% price hike for laptops sold in the U.S., effective March 2025, in response to new import tariffs on Chinese-made goods. The tariffs, effective from February 4, 2025, will affect incoming shipments while existing stock remains unaffected. Competitors like Dell and HP are also anticipated to raise prices by 10% to 25%. With about 80% of U.S. laptop imports originating from China, significant retail price increases are expected due to the tariffs.
